Well, it started snowing lightly yesterday, and has been snowing pretty much all morning today. Finesse and I had to go to the libraray to drop off stuff that was due today. I almost didn't go, cuz as someone in a big black SUV was turning into our subdivision, they must have been going to fast cuz they slid across the road and almost hit our house, good thing for the curb or it would have.
Well, because my Jag has All Wheel Drive, I decided to go to the library anyway and test that baby out and see how it did in the snow. And Boy oh Boy, shoulda stayed home...there were cars in ditches and sliding around all over the road, one young lady was parked in the middle of the road crying and on her cell phone as she was watching another car in the oncoming traffic lane in a ditch...the guy that went into the ditch was okay he was outside of his car on his cell phone too, so she stopped in the middle of the road and made us all go around her...which made that more dangerous for us. I was starting to get nervous, but I guess my car's All Wheel Drive did it's job, so my car did fine. I was surprised, cuz cars right in front of me and next to me in the oncoming traffic lane were swerving all over the place...so then I was just worried that someone was gonna slide into me :] But we got home safely, Whew! What should have been a 10 minute trip was more like a 40 min. trip... I was driving 20mph most of the way. When we took off it was 29 degrees and halfway to the library in Maple Valley it had dropped to 26 degrees. On our way back home the Crying lady was still in the middle of the road...but now, I guess trying to calm herself down was smoking a cigarette. The guy that went into the ditch was still there too and still on his cell phone.
This is really nothing in comparison to when I lived in Michigan...I can remember the shoveled snow on the side of sidewalks was taller than me as I walked 2-3 miles to get to my elementary school...it felt like I was walking through the parted RED SEA OF SNOW! So I can literally tell my kids and grandkids that "When I was a kid I used to walk 2-3 miles in the snow just to get to school" Ha Ha : )
Finesse says that her Pug (Jackson) loves the snow as much as her. When we got home from the library she grabbed a snowball for him and put it in his dish, he gobbled it right up, so she went down and got a bowl full for him then she took him out for a walk. Here are some Pics I took with my Droid phone.
